Connect Jobber to QuickBooks Online (new integration)

Set up Jobber's new QuickBooks Online sync so clients, invoices, payments and timesheets flow from Jobber into QuickBooks automatically. One-way, built in. Steps checked against the vendor's help article on 2026-10-29 (article last updated 2026-10-28).

We built this guide from Jobber Help Center: How to Connect Jobber and QuickBooks Online: NEW QuickBooks Integration. We haven't run this setup in our own business yet, so follow the vendor's article if anything on screen looks different.

What you need

 • A Jobber account on a plan that includes the QuickBooks Online integration (Jobber says it is available on select plans and does not name them in the article; check yours under the Gear icon, then Account and Billing)
 • An admin user in Jobber: the integration must be set up by an admin
 • A QuickBooks Online account. Jobber says the new sync is available in Canada and the United States, and each QuickBooks account can connect to only one Jobber account at a time

Steps

 1. Open the QuickBooks Online app. In Jobber, click Apps in the side navigation and select QuickBooks Online from the list.
 2. Connect and authorize. On the QuickBooks Online Integration page, select Connect. Sign in to QuickBooks Online if asked, then click Allow access.
 3. Choose what to import (first connection only). Click Connect to QuickBooks, then toggle ON the items to import from QuickBooks into Jobber (all active clients, and/or all active products and services), or turn both OFF to skip. This is a one-time, one-way import. Sub-customers in QuickBooks come in as properties.
 4. Pick a payouts account (Jobber Payments only). If you use Jobber Payments, choose the QuickBooks account that Jobber Payments payouts should reconcile to, then select Continue.
 5. Review and start the import. Check the summary, then click Start import (or Edit to change your picks). You can keep working in Jobber while it runs; when it finishes, click View Details to see any errors or warnings.
 6. Set when things sync. Go to Gear Icon → Settings → Connected Apps → QuickBooks Online Integration, click Manage App, then Sync Settings. Choose when clients, products and services, and invoices first sync (when created, or only once used or sent), whether payments, refunds, tips and payout reconciliation sync when collected, and whether approved timesheets sync. Click Update Settings.

Limits to know

 • The sync runs one way, from Jobber to QuickBooks, automatically. Jobber is the source of truth for clients and products and services, so make edits in Jobber; changes made in QuickBooks can be overwritten. "Paid" status on invoices does not sync back to Jobber (per Jobber's "Migrate to the NEW QuickBooks Integration" article, updated October 28 2026).
 • Jobber says the new integration is being rolled out gradually to select accounts. Accounts still on the legacy integration follow a different article ("How to Set Up QuickBooks Online Sync"), where syncing is started by hand.
 • Moving from the legacy integration to the new one cannot be undone.
 • Older invoices, payments, payouts and timesheets can be brought over with Sync older items to QuickBooks on the Sync Settings tab. To sync payments you must also sync invoices, and to sync payouts you must also sync invoices and payments.
 • If the team member who connected Jobber and QuickBooks is deactivated, the connection is dropped and has to be reconnected.
 • Reconnecting to the same QuickBooks company offers Reset and Import (resets all sync mappings) or Don't import (keeps them).

Sync errors and warnings show on the QuickBooks sync activity dashboard in Jobber; Jobber's Help Center has "Common QuickBooks Sync Errors and How to Fix Them: NEW QuickBooks Integration" for the fixes.
